MAGNOLIA GUITAR is Daniel Magnolia, a professional full-time guitar instructor and guitar repair technician serving the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC metro areas.

Guitar Lessons

Daniel is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and with over 25 years of experience playing the guitar, he puts the FUN back into fundamentals! Daniel specializes in teaching beginners by isolating and breaking down complex skills to quickly develop the unique motor coordination needed to play the guitar.These skills are then leveraged to do what every guitar player wants to do: Play Songs!

Meanwhile, students are also introduced to the common language and structure of music theory as it applies directly to the guitar. With continued customized exercises and specially developed worksheets, students begin to understand how to deconstruct songs and, more importantly, how to create songs themselves.

Guitar Repair

Just like your car, your guitar can be a joy to behold if well maintained and downright frustrating if neglected. Daniel Magnolia is a certified fretted instrument repair technician having attended Bryan Galloup’s School of Lutherie in Big Rapids, Michigan. He can evaluate your instrument for free and discuss your options before any work is done. There is never any pressure or hard-selling at Magnolia Guitar.

Community

Daniel has lived and worked in the Washington, DC area for over 20 years and feels a strong responsibility toward serving the community.

He volunteers with Guitars Not Guns, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides guitars and guitar lessons, free of charge, to deserving children in our communities.

Daniel also presents a custom designed science lesson on Sound and the Acoustic Guitar for local area elementary schools. The interactive 45-minute presentation with hands-on demonstrations includes a little history, construction, science and even math!

Once a month, he hosts The Northern Virginia Musicians’ Workshop. The Workshop is part open mic, part house concert and ALL FUN! It’s a great place for musicians of all skill levels to work on the art of performing and share feedback with encouraging peers. Think of it as ‘Toastmasters’ for musicians!

When he’s not doing all of the above, Daniel Magnolia can also be found on many online guitar forums and routinely answers guitar-related questions on Yahoo! Answers.
