Press & Miscellany

Magnolia Guitar and the SIX for SIX Story (Oct. 2011- Sep. 2013) have been featured by ScoutMob, VaultPressThumbtackGearPipe, and praised by Gary Marcus, author of Guitar Zero: The New Musician and the Science of Learning.

Daniel Magnolia was an NPR volunteer for two years and was selected as Volunteer of the Month by WAMU 88.5 FM (Air Waves, Issue 46, May 2012). He has also been featured by NPR News and NBC4 Washington News; has had an article published by WAMU’s Bluegrass Country; and was a contestant on the very first season of the NPR game show, Ask Me Another, featuring host & comedian Ophira Eisenberg, quizmasters Art Chung and John Chaneski and the always mirthful & musical Jonathan Coulton.

For more than 10 years, Daniel has been speaking to adoptive parents and their children about his own experiences growing up adopted. He co-founded Adoption Links and the DC Chapter of Also Known As.

In his previous career as a corporate graphic designer, which seems like a million years ago, he even won the Employee of the Year Award for the entire Mid-Atlantic region. (Not to ‘toot’ his own horn or anything.)

Daniel received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University in Washington, DC and attended the Galloup School of Lutherie for guitar repair in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He is currently writing two books.
