Have you wondered what the song is for that Subaru commercial with the mom and the three little hockey players? It’s “If I Should Fall from Grace with God” by The Pogues.

The Pogues were a Celtic punk band, formed in 1982 and fronted by Shane MacGowan. When MacGowan left the band in 1991, the band continued with Joe Strummer (The Clash) and then with Spider Stacy on vocals before breaking up in 1996. The band has since reformed and has been playing regularly around St Patrick’s Day in the US and across the UK and Ireland every December. They have announced a new Japan & Australia tour in 2012.

Started in North London as Pogue Mahone, which is the Anglicisation of the Irish “póg mo thóin”, meaning “kiss my arse”.

Garnier Taps Ting Tings for Shampoo Ad

I’m happy to hear the song “Great DJ” by The Ting Tings accompany the commercial for Garnier Fructis Color Shield shampoo. The Ting Tings are Manchester duo Jules De Martino and Katie White who with the help of a little looping perform their songs live with just the two of them.
