Every once and awhile there’s a TV commercial that peaks my interest not so much for the product, but because of the music they chose for the ad. Such is the case with a recent commercial for Carmax which features one of my favorite performers, Ingrid Michaelson.

If you don’t know her name, you probably know at least a few of her songs if you watch television.

Most recently, her song “Everybody” from the 2009 album of the same name appears in a Carmax commercial.

Before that, her song “Maybe” appeared in a commercial for Hair Cuttery. And she’s most famously known for her song “The Way I Am” that appeared in an Old Navy sweater commercial in 2007.

Check her out and you’ll find that she’s a talented songwriter and performer in her own right, even outside of the occasional commercial.

Although, I love the song in that Hair Cuttery ad, the ad itself bugs me. Wouldn’t it have made sense that when the guy comes back… he should come back with a new haircut? Right? Whatevs.
